Ilona Shparaga is an associate in the business and commercial litigation practice group. She represents businesses and individuals in all types of civil litigation, including financial, contract, business, trust and estates, employment, construction, and securities related disputes. Ms. Shparaga also advises on matters relating to contract interpretation, labor and employment, sexual discrimination, fiduciary duties, forced buyouts, and other corporate issues. 

Additionally, Ms. Shparaga works hands-on with the Firm’s law clerks daily. She is their primary supervisor and point of contact to ensure clerks have a sufficient and meaningful workload and are receiving proper guidance and mentorship. When attorneys submit any requests for clerk assistance, she assigns the work to a law clerk, based on availability, interest, and skill level. Additionally, she circulates opportunities or events that might be of interest to law clerks and their professional development and helps organize social events for the law clerks. 

Before joining Silverman Thompson, Ms. Shparaga served as a judicial law clerk to the Honorable Sherrie R. Bailey of the Circuit Court for Baltimore County. Ms. Shparaga graduated magna cum laude from the University of Baltimore School of Law in 2017, where she served as a staff editor of the University of Baltimore Law Review and was a distinguished scholar of the Royal Graham Shannonhouse III Honor Society. Ms. Shparaga received her undergraduate degree in psychology summa cum laude from the University of Baltimore in 2014.
