Firm Wins Reversal in Medical Malpractice Appeal

In appealing a significant medical malpractice case tried by another Maryland law firm, Silverman Thompson won a reversal and a new day in court for a Maryland plaintiff. In the published opinion of Waldt, et al. v. University of Maryland Medical System Corporation, et al., our firm reversed a ruling by a Circuit Court for Baltimore City judge who threw the case out for expert deficiencies. The Maryland Court of Special Appeals decision in Waldt has established new law for the qualification and eligibility of expert witnesses in medical malpractice cases.
